Work Detail

Building the technologies that will shape the future of materials R&D. Creating technologies that will support the future of materials research and development. About MI-6 MI-6’s mission is to transform materials R&D through Materials Informatics. Materials research still relies heavily on fragmented data, individual expertise, and manual experimentation. We are building a new R&D environment where researchers, AI, data, and laboratory systems work together. Our work spans software, data science, scientific computing, and laboratory automation. By connecting these capabilities, we aim to enable researchers to explore ideas, conduct experiments, and turn discoveries into real-world outcomes more effectively. MI-6's mission is to "popularize materials informatics and innovate research and development." Materials research and development still relies heavily on fragmented data, individual expertise, and manual work. We aim to create a world where researchers can more effectively explore and experiment, transforming discoveries into tangible results, by connecting software, data science, computational science, and lab automation. Role As a Research Scientist, you will independently lead R&D projects that develop MI-6’s future technical capabilities. You will take technical challenges relevant to our products and business, formulate hypotheses, design an approach, and evaluate the results. You will also implement your ideas and make them concrete enough for others to test, assess, and further develop. Your work may become part of a product, a customer solution, an internal technology, or an automated research workflow. As a Research Scientist, you will autonomously lead R&D projects that develop technologies that MI-6 will need in the future. You will formulate hypotheses, design approaches, and evaluate the results for technical challenges related to our products and business.
