Work Detail
Nippon Steel's technical roles comprise various fields such as operations technology, quality control, equipment technology, energy technology, IT systems, and research and development. Within the value chain, individuals with diverse skills play a vital role, each with significant autonomy and the ability to proactively engage in a variety of tasks. Professionals from diverse fields come together as a team to work towards a common goal. [Operations Technology] Responsible for planning and execution related to the manufacturing line. Utilizing specialized knowledge and product expertise, they consider improvements in quality, production, and cost from both "people" and "equipment" perspectives. [Quality Control] Responsible for everything from product concept development to manufacturing line management. They also play a leading role in new product development and engage in technical discussions with customers as technical sales representatives. [Equipment Technology] Responsible for the introduction, construction, and maintenance of equipment (mechanical, electrical, architectural/civil engineering/water supply) related to the manufacturing process. [Energy Technology] Manages essential utilities such as electricity, gas, and water for steel production. Responsible for equipment introduction and maintenance. Also engages in sales of electricity. [IT Systems] Plans and develops all aspects of systems for headquarters functions and steelworks. We propose optimal solutions by leveraging business knowledge and cutting-edge technologies (AI, IoT, RPA). [Research and Development] We conduct a wide range of research, including basic research, product development, structural design, processing, joining, and manufacturing processes. Opportunities for academic presentations and patent acquisition are also available.
